Digital Communication Via Radio

There are a number of ways to use Amateur Radio to communicate, and the amateur radio bands can be used for digital communications. WinLink 2000 is one way to use the Amateur Radios bands for computer Email communications, just like the Internet. D-Star, a radio protocol promoted by Icom, is another. The following link shows how an ARES organization in Washington State uses D-Star for emergency communications.
