LAFD Museum Volunteers

From: www.cert-la.com

The LAFD Museum is looking for volunteers to help out with several different projects and a few chores from time to time. They may even train some of the more qualified volunteers to give tours. A large part of it is to welcome visitors, answer questions, provide safety and generally be visible. Sometimes parents forget that it's a museum and not a playground.

The Museum is open on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, but most of staff and volunteers drop in around 8:00 - 8:30 am for a cup of coffee and a donut. Volunteers don't have to stay all day, even a few hours will help. The "Bob's Diner" staff gets in about 6:00 am to make coffee and then start preparing lunch, which is only $5.00 for staff and volunteers.

You can call (323) 464-2727, mention that you want to volunteer and leave your name and call back number. The Director of Operations is on vacation until the 28th, so unless someone else is checking the messages, you probably won't get a call back until the beginning of October, or you can stop by the museum and see Bob Lee.
